May 30, 1972 - Three members of the Japanese Red Army attacked Tel Aviv's Lod airport (now: Ben Gurion Intnl.) and killed 26 people while injuring another 80. Two of the three perpetrators were killed, while Kōzō Okamoto was captured after being wounded. He said he participated in the Lod Airport massacre because it was his "duty as a soldier of the revolution".
